The above painting of Chiswick Village, done by Evacustes Phipson in 1903, features the public bar of the George and Devonshire, at the top of Church Street in Old Chiswick, just 100 yards from the river Thames. The George and Devonshire, situated next door to Chiswick Square, is the nearest pub to local visitor attractions such as Chiswick House, Hogarth House and Chiswick Parish Church, St Nicholas of Myra, where Hogarth is buried. A public house since the 1650s, and in the 2008 CAMRA Good Beer Guide for its Cask Marque accredited real ale, the pub boasts an atmospheric saloon lounge, public bar with pool table, function room and secluded terrace. Situated on the Hogarth Roundabout and the A4, , the George and Devonshire, with good local parking and its own car park, is well suited as a meeting place and rendezvous point for travellers to Wales and the West.

The separate function room, with a solid wooden floor, is a wonderful venue for

  • private parties of all kinds
  • family and office occasions
  • meetings, business or social.

The room can also be hired for music, filming, auditions, etc., with no charge for community events, or band rehearsals.

Proximity to the Brewery ensures that Fullers real ale is sold in perfect condition, to complement the delicious food prepared by the George and Devonshire’s kitchen team.
